It Came From The Porch : Apartment Tour
Hey, come on in. First room is my kitchen, coming in from the back porch. You can't see 'em in this shot, but there are crystal snowflakes hanging in the windows that cast rainbows all over the place when it's sunny... actually, that little white dot over the lightswitch is one. The fridge is over to the right.
A really cool candle-stand that Tanya and I found at a junkshop downtown, and a painting of Alice that Judy did. Gotta get that framed.
My office space. Comfortable place, full of old computers and dust motes that float lazily in the sun. That's a Commodore 1702 monitor on top of the Laserwriter+, and my Mac SE/30 just to the left of my Mac Portable. The other three monitors belong to the souped-up 7500 under the desk.
I like the fireplaces here. Not that they actually work, or anything, but they make neat spots to stash things. The heater over in the corner works just fine. Dig the picture rails all around the top of the walls... all my pictures hang from wires. No nails tearing up the plaster, no little white bits to get in my disk drives. Was kind of a challenge to find the hardware, though, but Universal Supply over on Springhill has all sorts of stuff to renovate old houses.
The bass rig by the open window (one of Lilu's favorite spots to observe the outside world from high above) and the bathroom.
Hey, I put that towel rack in all by myself. Bathroom decorated in late-twentieth-century Target, if you can dig it. Move on to the living room. |
