It Came From The Porch : Journal Index

16 April 1999:

Not much to say today, feeling overwhelmed by the whole health thing. Too many doctors. Too much smell of alcohol and sting of needle. Too much compassion evident in the eyes of nurses. Too much, too much.

So today's feature will be random pictures that make me happy. Enjoy!

You gotta love Miles. You just gotta.

Eek! Naked Nick with power tools! Eek I say! Eek!

They were beautiful, these kittens in the mist...

Trace walks towards Sid with a cup of coffee in his hand and a gleam in his eye... will she move? Will he step over her? Will he drip coffee on her nose? Will he stomp across her chest? The answers to these questions and more coming soon... ooops, sorry, not really. I lied.

If you want to entertain a Miles or Ella until they can do no more than sit and pant, a simple stick is your best option.

These be my kinfolks. Sister Camille, myself, Brother Joel and Brother Neal. Brother Neal is my almost-a-genetically-perfect-match bone marrow donor. Let's give a shout out to Neal. Oi!

Ok, there ya have it, some random stuff.

It's Friday, about 4 pm and it'll soon be time to go home. It's been a hellacious week and I am drained and unsure. I can't even make up my mind what I want to hear right now. It's been Lyle Lovett all day, and I think JB's getting sick of him, even if I'm not. Lemme ask.

"Hey, you sick of Lyle Lovett yet?"

"Um... I could deal with him for another hour. It's fine."

Cool. Disc one of Step Inside This House, comin' up.

I feel better already.

Some folks say there ain't no bears in Arkansas
Some folks never seen a bear at all
Some folks say that bears go around eating babies raw
Some folks got a bear across the hall

God this music's good.

Goodnight, Gracie.
