In response to email requests for more pictures of kittens... voila!
Corbin was doing a wonderful job of helping me frame the shots... I've always said that a border of cat fur is what really makes a photo.
Little tiger-kitten's getting big.
Although he still doesn't like sitting still for any length of time.
Lilu and Corbin have settled into domesticity. I still can't believe how easily and completely she accepted him. Guess she was lonely for another kitten who wasn't part of some other household, and a threat to her dominance of her space. Or maybe she just enjoyed kicking kitty butt, I dunno. But she digs Corbin, and they both sleep on my bed these days. I usually wake up to a nose in my face or ear (Corbin) or Lilu sitting just above my head with her feet close together, gazing down at me in casual regard... apparently wondering just when this lazy human was going to get up and begin the day properly by feeding the cats. I love these two kids, if you can't tell. Kittens are better than TV any day. Mmm, hold on, gonna get a cup of coffee. Drinking it with milk these days. Weird. But easier on the stomach. Be right back. (minutes later...) (Careful slurp) Yum! I love me some coffee. Also found a Tupperware container of Frosted Mini-Feets that didn't look like it was doing anything important, so I dragged it in here with me. Hey, the box says you can eat 'em however you want. Judy brought over some of her artwork on Zip disk, let's see what she's got. But first, some Beatles. :) Anthology Two Disc One... here we go... Hmmm, interesting. Check it out, y'all:
This was work towards one of Judy's business cards. She has worn that fork necklace as long as I've known her. I guess it's become a sort of tradefork.
Pottery on the beach. This one was chosen to be in William Carey's brochure for their art department... Judy says it "communicates the purity and environment surrounding the college." Ha. She's occasionally a little sarcastic, I'm afraid. "Baby's good to me you know she's happy as can be you know Random Beatles - now back to our regularly scheduled program:
Jazzzzzzzz! Grooooooovy... the girl didn't tell me that she was doing photography until I went to her B.F.A. show and saw this one and more in the series. I was totally not expecting it, and totally blown away. Cool stuff, girl. Last night... the rest of the kids went off on a search for Gretsch Rockin' Cat and the Modern Eldorados. They're a rock-a-billy southern country/TexAl'bama/Elvis-song singin' kinda group of cool rockin' cats with pompadors and shiny western clothing.
Anyway, they couldn't find him. They were just following a rumor that he was playing somewhere in town. I think Judy walked up and down Dauphin Street knocking on club doors and screaming "Is there a Gretsch in the house?!" But, alas, they had no luck. Meanwhile, we (me, Lezlee, Sid) went to El Giro's with Becky and Josh for some Mexican food. And margaritas. And beer. Becky got drunk. And LOUD. I think she embarassed Josh. Ok, I know she did, since she was talking really mean about him, to his face, and he got up and walked out. It wasn't too cool... we got kinda stern with Becky. But I don't think anybody needs to be doing that shit. If you wanna talk shit about someone, why would you want to hang around with them? Well, enough about that... she apologized and apparently woke up this morning with him in her house and her with no clothes on. So I guess they made up. :) But far be it from me to draw conclusions from what is, at best, circumstantial evidence. Anyway, after that we came back here and just mellowed out.
Lezlee and Sid trying to... uh, I'm not really sure what they were trying to do. Probably hacking into the WTO mainframe or something. Setting girls loose on your system is dangerous at best. I hope they went through the Anonymizer... So here we are this morning, got two cups of coffee in me and I'm ready to go with Nick to the store, just so he doesn't have to do it alone. Hell, get a group of us together and set us free on an unsuspecting Delchamps and you no longer have a boring trip to the store, you have an adventure where improbable things will probably happen. Gotta keep the romance in life! Y'all be good. |
