This story goes so far beyond that you have to consider it fantasy, not crime fiction. Within the realms of fantasy, it's a good book, but don't even talk to me about taking it as serious, 'realistic' fiction. Too much, man, just too much. The evil villian with no face, the oh-so-elegant hero who just happens to brutally murder and EAT people? The disgraced FBI agent who...

Wait, have YOU read this? If you haven't, I'm not gonna spoil it. Go out and read it... but don't eat first, and for gosh sake don't read it at bedtime.
