5 June 1999: Part II

Mucusitis. Ick.

A morphine drip should be fun, not necessary.

Ok, it's still fun. :)

Man, that little button turns you into instant junkie... you just have to push it to see if the machine'll give you more. And I KNOW it takes longer than half an hour, no matter what the clock says! You can't help but smile when the pump cheerfully goes 'EEP!' to let you know that it just gave you another half milligram of morphine.

Morphine or not, my mouth feels like I've been gargling with acid. Throb throb goes the tongue.

Would you believe the nurse snuck in and shot me up with a dose of chemo? They didn't tell me they were gonna do that! Said it would help the transplant take. I couldn't watch. It was a thin syringe, full of an almost neon yellow/green liquid, with orange hazard stickers plastered all over it. Great. EXACTLY what I want shot directly into my heart (shudder). Weird how it bothered me in that tiny dose, when I'd been sucking it in by the bagfull a week ago.

But I was DONE with the shit, dammit.

Oh well. I still had a great time playing with my Macs today. Yeah yeah, I know, playing with Macs makes you grow hair on your palms, but fuck it, it's gonna fall out in a couple of days. :)

Messagepad 2000, Powerbook 160, PowerMac 7500 with a Newertech 250mhzG3 card and 224 megs of ram, a nine-gig and a 1.2 gig hard drive. Cambridge Soundworks speakers, brand new Sony monitor, a color Quickcam and an Epson PhotoPC digital camera. Is this cool or what? I'm gigglin' all the live-long day. Call me a geek, go ahead - I'm a happy geek.

Aren't they cute? And yes, you can surf the Net just fine on either... or build a website... hell, I think I've even got some HTTP server software for the Newton somewhere.

Hehehehehehe.

5 June 1999:

Ok, ya'll, today's just been too much fun. Woke up this morning at 5am and decided I was gonna see if I could get this old Powerbook 160 (68030 at 25mhz, System 7.1) up on the Net. 13 hours later, here I am! Hehehehe... yup, even updating the page from it. Cruisin the net in sixteen exciting shades of grey, at blazing speed! Hahaha, I kill me. Seriously, this was fun. Am I a geek, or what?
