Man, I've been all over the place today. Walked to the hospital, slept through a magnesium infusion. Walked out of the hospital with Tanya and up to Five Points for lunch at a chinese restaurant. Walked to the local head shop to try and find a cool patch to sew on my hat. At the head shop ("Bohemian Rhapsody" - gag) a woman was teaching the new chick to pierce. Oh lord. Today's prayer: Lord protect me from idiots with needles. Thank you, amen. Personally, I ain't getting anything more than my ears pierced anywhere but at Rings of Desire, or maybe Aardvark in San Fran. NEVER get pierced by someone you don't trust to really really know what they're doing. Besides, an important part of the experience is the moment of being pierced... and I love the way Angel pierces. Anyway, neither the head shop or WorldWinds had any cool patches. Guess patches are out of style. :) Man, I hate wearing this surgical mask around. People just shut down when they see it... they don't know whether it's there to protect me from them, or protect them from me... or if I'm just a freak who thinks the air they breathe isn't clean enough for him. Either way, they get all reserved and don't smile. I hate that. Especially the girls... and the checkout girl at WorldWinds was cute, too. Didn't even crack a smile. I'm losing my touch... Nah, I'm just recovery-boy. :) It's just more incentive for me to hurry up and recover. Like I needed more. So you guys wanna hear how much I miss my home and my friends and my cat? Didn't think so. Hey Christy! Hey Rob! Sid, Nick, Amy! Becky, dammit, HEY BECKY! I miss y'all. Pet the cat's for me, 'k? Siddy B. gave me a model of a '57 Chevy, and I'm having the best time putting that thing together. It's been maybe eight or ten years since I did a model. This time around is great... I seem to have learned patience and attention to detail sometime in the last decade. Tanya and I took a trip over to Homewood and she introduced me to one of the coolest shops I've ever been in. Homewood Toy & Hobby Shop is PACKED full of everything a modeller or model train freak could want. Everything down to the raw sheets and strips of plastic, and a most excellent variety of paints... I got exactly what I wanted for the body on the Chevy. So now I'm back at the TownHouse, chillin, listening to (alternately) Lyle Lovett and Godsmack, working on the model a bit at a time, talking to some friends on IM. It's been a much better day than I've had in a while, and having the excercise feels wonderful... it was good to sweat a little in the sun. I've got to get some sun on this chrome dome... I look like Powder. Peace, kids - keep da' faith. |
