Cowboy Mouth live: Max Weinberg on crystal meth.

Headed downtown to Bienville Blast on Sunday. Sorry to say there wasn't much of a turn-out, and apparently about 90% of the people there got free tickets somehow, or had all-access passes. Ran into Harriet and Ashley, wandered over and watched Cowboy Mouth. Good, loud rock n' roll from New Orleans, LA, with the drummer (Fred LeBlanc, formerly of Dash Rip Rock) as frontman. I've never seen someone work a crowd like that man. I didn't groove too much on him being singled out as the star attraction, especially since the songs that the guitar player sang were the better ones, but he was definitely entertaining.

Jason and I stopped back by the Bike Shop afterwards. I sat out back on the porch of the house that is totally enclosed in the building (I'm not kidding! It's an 1800's cottage behind the bar that has been completely walled in and roofed over) and watched Woody hold court. With a ring of ten or fifteen people around him, Woody told stories and cooked and cooked and cooked. Man, there is nothing quite like ice-cold black and tan (Guiness and Bass) and grilling out. It was good stuff.

Ever wonder where It Came From The Porch gets built? That's me and Bill at Bill's desk. Mine is the one immediately to the right (with the picture of Natalie Portman on the second monitor. Yum!) We don't have any windows, but we have music and Gandhi, and Macs with a screaming fast connection the the Net. I'm not complaining. Oh yeah, and my socks don't match - two different argyles. :)

Having a ballet dancer for a friend and correspondent can lead to quite wonderful attachments in one's email.
