It Came From The Porch : Journal Index

11 November 1999:

Well dammit. Seems like my bloodtest results came back from earlier this week. Looks like alcohol was not, after all, the culprit in my abnormal liver enzyme levels. I didn't drink a damn drop. Yet - they're worse now.

It's liver biopsy time.

Don't ask me what's involved, cause I don't know... but I have a sinking suspicion that it involves sticking something long, shiny and sharp into my liver and sucking stuff out.

They're gonna poke me in my LIVER!

Is it just me, or does that give anyone else the screaming heebie-jeebies?

I guess I'll let y'all know what it was like.

There were about four digital cameras floating around last weekend.

Were there ever three studlier men? Weep all ye who hath not experienced The Men Of The Porch. (coming in December's issue of Playgirl!)

Morning on saturday, sitting around and drinking coffee, trying to decide if we should cook or go out and let someone else cook for us.

Guess what won. :)

I'm not always all that studly. Sometimes I'm just tired. Or sick. Or something.

Nick, on the other hand, is studly twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

We went to El Giro's for lunch/breakfast... there were many bottles of Corona and glasses of margarita at El Giro, just waiting to be plucked.

There are less now.

Dan wanted a little something extra to put in the salsa.

I woke up long enough to pose with Lezlee.

That afternoon, Amy and I disappeared into the darkroom and printed some black and white. We left Nick and Lezlee on the porch drinking Corona. I think a party just kind of coalesced around them.

Darlene and Amy.

Amy and Lezlee.

Kevin showed up in a new shiny silver suit and started painting people's faces.

Awwww....

We wanted to take Lez to somewhere 'very Mobile' for lunch the next day, so we headed down to the Causeway and took her to the Original Oyster House. Much excellent seafood was gobbled by all.

Hanging out on the porch outside, looking back towards Mobile. Not exactly a huge metropolitan skyline, eh?

Siddy B. with the Causeway in the background.
